Your project is to brainstorm as many services that you can think of that create some sort of opportunity or framework for its customers to adopt new behaviors that are transformative to themselves. [15 min] Decide as a group which service you want to focus on. As a team, you will create a 5-minute visually-rich media piece in digital format that we can post online, that describes in great detail the components of your service as we've laid them out in this week's lectures. Suggestion for the final deliverable include: Show examples of organizations or companies that provide this kind of service. What's it like to work for this organization? What's it like to be the service provider? What's it like to be the customer of this service? Describe evidence (or touchpoints) of the service. What behaviors are being changed or made to happen? What aspects of oneself is potentially being transformed? After your 5-minute presentation, there wil be a 3-minute Q&A from the class. Carefully comb through all the supporting documents, websites and other resources that I have provided. The infographics is a great place to start and then as you begin to get your arm around the subject, move deeper into the other documents. More resources may be provided over the coming weeks. Start a field notes journal right away! Spend a couple of hours over the next few days watching and observing kids around the city. Go to places you wouldn't normally. Get out of your comfort zone. Sketch, annotate and document what you see, hear, feel and think about. For Tuesday, prepare the following: 1. An explanation of the problem in your own words. 2. Insights and observations you had in researching the problem statement. Do not re-state what's already in the resources provided but come with your own biases and point-of-view of things. I want to hear your opinions and judgments with a goal of getting these out in the open now so that we can be aware of them but move them aside as you start ethnographic research with your subjects. 3. Field notes, images, sketches, diagrams, etc. -- whatever you need to do to begin documenting how you are beginning to understand things. 4.
